I (they/them) am a licensed clinical social worker in Michigan and Arizona. In addition to providing counseling to individuals and relationships, including couples, I regularly engage in training and consulting other therapists in transformational therapeutic models, specializing in IFS, EMDR, IFS-Informed EMDR, and AEDP informed by humanistic and psychodynamic schools of thought.
I am passionate about the above models of experiential psychotherapies, as they all acknowledge two foundational beliefs: first, that all our bodies contain an innate tendency towards healing and growth, given a set of "right" experiences. Second, when provided with the right experiences, the shift within us is not merely "coping" to mask our symptoms, but a more permanent trait change congruent with the brain.
Additionally, each acknowledges the diversity of our lived experiences, identities, and psyches. Working from these models, the diversity of the intersection of our identities, lived experiences, and the impact on our psyches is unique. So, the experience you and your system may need in our relationship is as diverse and unique as you are, allowing for an inclusive way of working.
